memory leak

she swims, with eyes open underwater
in coconut skin
chestnut hair falling into a natural side-parting
unrelenting grin

summer's last swim

i watch her, pool-side
do the jump again, i'll get it this time
mind soaks back
wading through pools of black, separating entities
you are not me

later, we speak:
topics range from everything to nothing
hope & hate, how to and why not ?
debating—she is very good

there is mystery in her
simplicity, swimming she says to me
is a minute of quiet in a loud & shouty world

later, dipped in darkness, there are dreams
tinged with ballet skirts & tangerines
